LONDON (EJP)---British Prime Minister David Cameron told the Holocaust Education Trust’s annual dinner in London that ‘’more must be done to preserve the memory of the Holocaust at a time when anti-Semitism is returning to some parts of Europe.’’

He continued, “Let me assure you that the safety of Israel will always be a fundamental concern for me. With me as Prime Minister, Britain will never stand by. We will not stand by when people talk with genocidal intent about the Jewish people — as the Iranian regime has done. We will not stand by as the Iranians continue their path to nuclear weapons.

“And we will back Israel’s right to defend itself, when rockets from terrorists… are fired into Israeli homes.”

Cameron also launched a new national multi-faith and cross-party Holocaust commission, which will set up a permanent Holocaust memorial in Britain....

Karen Pollock, Chief Executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust, said: “We welcome the lead that the Prime Minister has taken in safeguarding the memory of the Holocaust for decades to come. We are delighted to be the key partners in the delivery of this landmark initiative.”
