Predsjednik Evropske udruge Holokaust preživjelih, gospodin Max Arpels Lezer upravo je primio visoki orden za svoje zasluge o organiziranju Sar-Ela i za rad u našoj organizaciji

Svi smo upoznali g. Lezera na konferenciji EUAS-a u Zagrebu, a ja surađujem s njim godinama i zahvaljujući njegovom zalaganju i autoritetu smo uspjeli, mi u istočnoj Evropi, izboriti se za isti tretman od Claims konferencije kao i ostali Židovi u Evropi.

I organizacija Holokaust preživjelih u Hrvatskoj sudjelovala je u "tajnoj" akciji svojim pismima da se g. Lezer nagradi i primi odlikovanje i ponosni smo što smo uspjeli te mu od sveg srca čestitamo.

U prilogu je pismo koje smo upravo primili od potpredsjednika EUAS-a gospodina Obsfelda:

Dear Friends,
It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that our friend and fellow Executive member, Max Arpels Lezer, was knighted in Amsterdam earlier today.
He has been elevated to Ridder in de Order van Oranje Nassau,that is, Knight of the Order of Orange Nassau. (See RON, below)
In the presence of his family, he and sixty-one other people, were presented with the documents and regalia by the Acting Mayor of Amsterdam on behalf of H.M. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands who will celebrate her OfficialBirthday tomorrow.
Max had been totally unaware of what was to happen, and had been made to attend this meeting "under false pretences" by his wife Fia.
I found the photograph etc. below on the website   Amsterdam.nl   of today's date. His citation refers only to 'Governor of the foundation Sar-El and of
Jewish Child Survivors of the Holocaust', however, there is rather more which is not mentioned here.
Max can be proud of his achievements, and we are proud of him!
